Our History
Mukono Diocese School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences (MUDISONAMS) was established in 2013 by the Mukono Diocese, in partnership with Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital, to address the need for skilled nurses and midwives in Uganda. It aims to enhance healthcare service delivery through quality education. In 2016, the institution was officially licensed and registered under the BTVET Act 2008 to offer Certificate programs in Nursing and Midwifery. In 2021, MUDISONAMS received a provisional license to offer Diploma Extension programs, with the first cohort set to graduate in October 2024.
The school is affiliated with the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) and collaborates with several hospitals, including Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital, Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital, and Butabika National Referral Hospital. Located in Kisowera, about 7 km from Mukono Municipality, the school offers a conducive learning environment with various facilities, such as a library, computer lab, skills laboratory, recreational hall, and student hostels. Owned by the Church of Uganda, Mukono Diocese, it is surrounded by several educational institutions, creating an enriching academic community.
